Teenagers and tweens across the UK are bored and uninterested in their class lessons.
With students already facing challenges in the classroom, how can we motivate teens and tweens to continue learning own their own?
Develop an app that tweens and teens can use to learn in a personalized and fun way.
Launched in 1998 BBC Bitesized provides educational content for children 4-16+ online. Topics covers online range from STEM subjects to art and language studies. Their app- BBC Bitesized -Revision provide revision assistance to older children, ages 14-16 to help them pass their GCSEs, TGAU, Nationals or Higher.
We started to develop various products for our app, these are some sample frames including a avatar selection page, home page, and AR feature.
We then started to wireframed the desktop layout that would've been accessible to teachers to use. Here we have the login page and the home page wireframes.
This feature allows students to personalize their profile to suit their capabilities. Here, they are able to see their strengths and weaknesses through the Personality and Attributes Questionnaires. Based on their unique results, teachers can use this information to recommend activates best fit for them.
To help students stay focused and on track, the app features a calendar with time-blocked activities, from group study sessions to augmented reality experiences.
Teachers will act as moderators; and can create lessons, games, mark grades and speak with students via the app.
They will also be able to pair students together based on their learning styles and abilities, encouraging them to collaborate to achieve their goals.
